I'd go Stopper.
Is there an availibility of bore options on the Stopper? I saw on one website that had them FS that said they could work up to 86mm. That is obviously way larger than our bore, even if oversized internals are used. So it that just the bore of the stopper or are there a few...
Heck, I want to paint my block purple now!!!
And with the like... 5 or more guys who are advising against the cork gasket, go buy some FIPG and call it a day!
By the way, do they make a purple high temp engine paint? or is that just some multi use paint?

I did the sogi mod awhile back as well...and I Hated it. Good to have a parts car to wreck stuff/gain experience on that doesnt matter too much
Keep it stock or, as mensioned, go with one of the three shifters listed.

Suprafly. NEVER use a ebay head gasket. its basically made of recycled milk cartons..
Buy Dave's Toyota HG (really fair price Dave), get your head milled, and clean up your block as much as you can with a scotch brite pad.

Condition of plugs/wires? Cold start injector hooked up or working properly?
Those are a few things to check..
May want to give it a compression test while your at it

In my haynes supra manual, it recommends to remove the starter and stop it with a pry bar while you remove the bolt.
I used this method once, it is MUCH easier with two people.
If the motor is out of the car, I ''blocked'' the crank with an 3/8" extension and used a large breaker bar...
