eric decided that it was time to go bigger so the 1jz is going out of the car in place of a 2jz. the 1jz wasn't gettign compression in the 5th-6th cylinders i think? Car def wasn't i na wreck, seeing how the guys at the club would never let it go :icon_razz

i somewhat agree with bob, it really did suck they banned it but they had to put a cap on the speeds somehow, it was getting far too dangerous.
then again i live in a magical ninja land so i guess dangerous things dont exist.
i was wondering if the thrust bearings, main bearings (should work in standard) and rod can be interchangeabel between the two? anyone gfot any experience?
well, for 600-700 i dont see why it cant be done. i have seen some good standard bore blocks go for 50 bucks everyonce in a while in the US, i would have picked one up but im in Canada. Im not sure what kidn of shop you have but mine can get it balanced and resized for about 250, + rod bearings...
if youre staying under 12 psi of boost, then your should be fine. above that i fear detonation.
edit. i personally would just get a gte block, take your head off your current motor, get your crank resized and balanced, as well as a complete rebuild. but thats just me.
i dont trust retorques, as the bolts are really old and they might be even mope innacurate when you torque them down the second time! i would just replace then with arp headbolts.
