i have a firend going into police academy that asked if i wanted to race once he got his cruiser (dead serious too i beleive he would do it without the intention of nailing me.) time will tell what a ford intercepter is capable of. i've never had the balls or the stupidity to try and find out.
very true.
the biggest question shouldnt be "how can i get 500hp", it shoudl be "can i handle, and am i an experienced enough driver to manage more than 400hp?"
that much money dont do it, keep hunting and you will find a clean condition, hit newspapers not online search sites, thats how you'll find the rare ones for cheep.
you can find a pristine condition car for about $5-7k. honestly, i'd look for a really clean one w/ a bhg, get a pristine car and...
its normal dude, on a cold startup you'll find a greyish white smoke and it will smell like gas. thats what the cats are there to filter , no cat, not filter and you get all that smelly goodness, thing is that on open throttle your exhaust will smell like fish to the people behind you.
and...
so if you'd only take the stock piston to about 3-4 hundred, and we would take it to abotu 600, about how much hp do you think we could pull out of your current engine before we blew it?
just get a bic ddp on there and call it good,
yes stock elbow is embarasing to look at

from what i've heard of real life down near the amazon it is infact a greenhell, just think what other kinds of creatures there are that no one has brought up yet.
replace as many seals as you can while it is out,
give the whole transmission an overhaul while you still can, new synchros and bushings wherever you can. beyond that depending on your hp goals you shouldnt need much more other than some synchromesh fluid.
