Yeah, it sounds to me like your crank pully has slipped on it's keyed center. The only way to verify your timing is to pull a spark plug and rotate the motor by hand. When the cylinder reaches TDC, put a big fatty mark on the crank pully. Set your timing with the new fatty mark and it should...
