Put a 2JZ in a S13 if you want to be scared with 400HP. Some people say, "Oh, 400HP is not that much for my Supra. My BPU 2JZ in my MKIII does that."

Comp turbos are decent at best. SP Engineering in Chicago tested a Comp 67 and a Precision 6765. The comp was sluggish and did not flow as well.

Scion Tc are good too but I was recommending cars that you can buy on a $2,000 budget and fix up without even exceeding $1,800. Trying to not to get you in debt.
Get the Corolla. Normal maintanence is a must but it will not have a lot of problems. I find them to be very reliable cars with normal daily driver comfort, not crazy though.
Buy a Civic, Accord, Corolla, Four Camary or a Sentra.
All are good on gas and are nice daily drivers. I prefer a 96-2000 Corolla. Those cars are strong. A simple tune up, timing belt with water pump and all seals and you are good to go. You can get them in five speed and they are not hard...
It seems that when you are going through gears and letting off, is when you get the smoke. Could be the turbo, PCV or the high vacuum created in that situation could pull oil past the seals.
