I get what you are asking, and no it's not a stupid question (I would not do what you are asking). None of my pipes for my FFI are welded together. See pics below. (But I did weld my FFI) This is also good because it allows them to "flex" with the engine movement.

Right, but you could use "DEI's" air intake charge cooler. It freezes that bubble to cool the air.

I'm running the Apexi Power filter on mine. (Flow tested to be the best).

The Fidanza is 11 lbs, it is what they claim and I put it on a scale. Some people have fitment issues with the Fidanza but mine was fine. I just put the stock one on a scale for ya and it said 18 lbs.
