There is a rivet up there with grounds. They get corroded. It's been common for years.

Sounds like it has a air fuel ratio gauge which is not a wide band and just goes off the stock o2 sensor.
Buy a wideband and then see what your afr are.
The aem is very picky with 7m cps. So make sure 1 the wiring is correct and 2 the cps is actually giving a signal.
also the aem is no different from any other 6cyl box. only difference is the plugs.
The cps has a ne signal which is a 24 tooth crank signal and 2 ge signals which are cam...

Loctite makes some killer spray for removing silicone on oil pans and such on mercedes. I might try and spray some of that in there and let it does it work.
the ground that is up there is riveted in and get corroded with rust. Need to drill it out and create a new ground.
ALso if the door switch is bad those wont turn on either. If the light on the door panel comes on then the door switch is good.
