I agree connector wise. I'm mostly trying to get the wires that cross the covers to go away. Have an idea after that for a custom cover with the is300 COP conversion. So no devils advocate my friend....thank for the insight on the connection points.
Thanks. I just ripped all the harness tape off last night and labeled/ moved what i xould. You are correct in some wires having common ground splices. Im sure i can cut these and move them closer to the ecu plugs. I am going to change the baked wires out. I have a donor harness my bro n law had...
I think the guy just wants to add a cold air intake he just needs to know that he has to leave that air flow meter and housing when doing it. He just have to connect the new filter before the air flow meter housing and whatever hard pipes he has after the housing.
AFM housing and electronics stay. You can change the filter with an adapter. The intercooling piping. But the AFM housing and its electronics stay.....unless you go speed density. You will need a separate system to control speed density.
That's cool and i hope i wasn't be too mean on that comment. But I'm about 3yrsthe new to the Supra as well and sticking to the basics should be your goal. Then read, read some more, and read again before trying to delete or upgrade things.
I'm trying to get my 88car turbo back on the road. It has been running but i took the pludge to paint the car and engine bay. Well after i had the engine out the wires on the hot side and across thevalve cover are just plain toast. Brittle, cracked insulation, plugs cracked, etc!!! So here's my...
Pics???? But off the top if my head ....i believe they are grounds. I say this because you say these wires are by the starter. I know there are about 5-6 wires that come together on 2 separate spade like connections that you bolt to the engine. Not near my car at the moment fir a pic but post...
Sometimes when buying a project car from others will turn out to be expensive with either money or a waste of your time. If the harness was chopped up I'd go with seein what he took out. If you can't figure that out .......find or make a complete harness. Verify everything is at square one with...
Looks like you didn't do any piston/rod work. Are you keeping the stock oil pump or has it been upgraded already? Seems to me that shooting for 500hp without doing any heart surgery is gonna catch up to you sooner than later. Also 550cc injectors will make you a little short if you want to do...
Thanks for the link. Just by looking at the pics I'm just about sure thats my issue. Not going to worry to much about it anymore. My next question is what is the best cost effective (less than $700) for a flywheel, disk, and pressure plate to handle 400hp? Here's my path im thinking of going...
Good call mk3!!! The flywheel had some sort of sticker which i figured was a part number. Became friends with Google and found the disk belonged on a W58 tranny. Didnt know if there is a difference in flywheels ...but a guess there is. Either way i called the company personally to verify they...
I've had the same issue on finding a goid 7mgte harness. Not many around and if you do find one in good condition they try nd sell it like its worth gold. Good luck.
Oh by the way guys...i found out that my car had the wrong flywheel on it. So now i have to find it a decent price flywheel...
Maybe unrelated but check the plugs into rhe ecu. Mine has a broken clip and backed out. Made just enough contact to run the car but when i would rev it hard or hit a bump it would run like crap then recover. Just my 2 pennies on my code 11.
Lol.....yes the disk was facing the flywheel as marked on the disk. I cant find any makings on the disk to see id i can find a model number to see if its the right disk. That's my only guess at this point. Should i look into another flywheel or just have it resurfaced? It does have a pretty...
I have an '88 Supra turbo and decided i wanted the engine bay and car painted. While the engine is oit i planned pn a few upgrades and fix a few oil leaks. The i took off the clutch and pressure plate i saw this on the disk.
What cause or how did the rivets get screwed up? I bought the car...
With those symptoms are you getting any codes? A clogged catty only gets worse as time goes on. They rarely just start working again. You say its goes or fella like full power when you punch it and wirh a clogged catty it doesn't matter how much you jam on it to the car feels like it will hit a...
