Ya I have lost it lately. I wake up in the morning all like "I'm gonna work on my car today!". But as soon as I look out the window, it's -10 and snow everywhere. "Screw that I'm not going out there" hahah.
I had the same problem and it turned out my heater core had a couple of pinhole leaks. I water pressure tested it when it was out of the car and it was misting and spraying. It takes a while to remove it from the car but I bet that you could test it while still in the car. Just use the hoses on...
I think it's a good sign. A sign that you will understand every aspect of your supra when you are done. It's actually quite painful to have a huge list like that and know how much money it adds up to being!
If you decide to keep the 7M then the best idea is to get it machined and put in a metal headgasket with ARP studs. Before you put any money into a 7M you should know that you could swap in a 2JZ. Lot's of people think it is a better engine to spend money on. Use the search function and look up...
If the hex head bolt strips don't even try to get it off. It's impossible I tried. Unless maybe you can remove all the valve covers and cams then try. If they don't leak, don't touch them like Poodles said.
So do all 4 of those hex head bolts seal something? I got all of mine off but the second one from the front. Does the second one from the front seal coolant... ?
Yup it looks nice and clean. I look forward to seeing what you do with it! It already looks low... you say you will upgrade the suspension? What does it have now?
Kelson, I thought I would be lucky like that. And my bolts DID come right off. Well the nut and washer did. It's when you go to try and slide the bolt out that it gets hard. But once you accomplish the task it is known to be a great upgrade.
It's not too hard to figure out how many gallons you have. Then draw a cube using simple math to hold the same amount. Then give the machine shop your pretty picture. Also the fuel level sender unit and pump hanger has to fit, assuming you would use your stock pieces.
Awesome. You know what I think you should do next? Get some of that spray on engine de greaser. Park next to a pressure washer and spray your block and transmission by the exhaust there it looks dirty. Then let it sit and rinse it off. That stuff works great!
Might want to get some new sway bar end links. I had to because mine were too rusty. You should be able to do it with a cutting disc grinder. But check it out before you try it incase you hit the subframe or arm.
