I'm a Finance major at the University of Tennessee, but I work at the front desk of a Hampton Inn here for $8.10 + Bonus. So, the pay isn't that great, but I don't do a whole lot.
I hate it when it's down. I mean, one instant you're searching a treasure chest full of information, the next instant you're back here on SM....JUST KIDDING!!!
Simann, if you want, I have a gauge cluster left over from my 87 (r.i.p.). The bezel piece is missing because a friend of mine needed it for his supra, but the gauges are all there. If you're interested, send me a pm.
Hey man, sorry I didn't find this earlier, but I have a good machine shop I'd recommend. They're called American Automotive & Machine. Their phone number is 777-9400 and they're located off of the Lovell Rd. Exit (Exit 374) on I-40. I have used them on multiple occasions for supra related...
I busted out laughing when I read this...........at work. The sad part is, I work at a hotel front desk (Hampton Inn) so the 5 guests in the lobby at the time just look up from their breakfast, see me grinning from ear to ear, and shake their heads.
Sucks to hear people are leaving......I...
I just gave my backup to my little sister. It is an 88 chevy celebrity wagon 2.8L. w00t!!!1!11 She pimps it to where she works at......Hooters. Bring on the jokes.

If it's the sensor with the round blue connector, that is the connector for the electric a/c fans. I don't know how that would affect your temperature needle unless you were running a/c at the time your temperature rose.
Is it really worth it? I would probably get pissed off looking at a cock-eyed gauge cluster. The MKIII guage cluster just wouldn't look "correct" to me. So, I guess, to each his own and good luck with your project.
Are you using an aftermarket boost gauge that reads vacuum as well? It is possible you have vacuum leaks causing bad performance. I know I did on my current 89 turbo so I went nuts and replaced every gasket and the car has it's nuts back. :)
