yo man, ive got an r154 here that ive been using. had another one lying around and got it rebuilt. so now i have this one that ive been using, grinds from 1st to second and a little bit from second to third when hard and medium shifting.
i could sell it to ya if you want to do a rebuild on it.
not perfect.. you forgot to surface the block. now you get to tear the engine down to the bare block again, with everything out of it and get it surfaced.
hmm that makes sense. well let us know if and where you find some. ill be needing those here very shorty. worst comes to worse just get a bolt and block them all off, no? is it needed anyway?
my daytona shelby z was a fun car. i heard they made a RWD conversion for it way way way back in the early 90s. so they say. the wiring on the car was possably the worst setup i had ever seen. i had 6 different sources trying to tell me where one this was connected to and none of those sources...
hmm.. how muich longer will reverse last?
thanks for cleaning the rust. you wouldnt believe how long it too to get the clutch out of that thing with all the rust from sitting around.
im Tony. and YAY! i didnt think i would have a bunch of new parts! how the hell did you break the shaft? are you sure this tranny is gonna hold the power i want to throw at it? also, how was the first gear thrust washer looking?
heard good things about jarco... or just check the buy/sell section for your best bet. i would rather buy a 7m with rodknock and rebuild it then buy a jdm that COULD have rodknock. hell its the same cost almost. (engine wise)
why is it a good idea to replace the springs in the oil squirters? do they get stuck shut? either way if the ge's dont have them and the early gte's dont either then why the big deal?
ahhh 2.2 turbo... thats what i had before i came to supra land! a nice 87 daytona shelby Z with T tops, leather.. all the goodies. boy i had fun in that car! until everything started to blow in it.. including the fuel pump which made me say FUCK YOU DODGE! lol. too much work for the state that...
my point!
i had a ticking for a long ass time.. knew it was the valves but didnt want to tear into it yet. now im doing my rebuild and realized a shit load of the exhaust studs were loose.. so thats where the ticking is from, i hear from a lot of people
check your clearences on your valve shims. per the tsrm. its prolly just out of spec which makes a bigger gap and a nice tick. OR you exhaust manifold is loose and your hearing the ticking from there..
or your lovely screen name did you in!
haha, is that your repayment joe? is this the celica that unleashed about 4 quarts of oil in my driveway last year when we did my clutch? that thing was a beast! super sleeper! the ricers wont even know
