My money is on the sprag/one-way clutch being faulty.
Here's my reasoning: For the starter to run at all, the plunger in the solenoid housing (on the starter) has to move downward to make the high-amp connection. Attached to that plunger is a pin that pushes the starter gear outward to engage...
I did one pull at wastegate boost ~18psi and made 486hp, 420tq.
New transmission, clutch, and driveshaft are the next things on the agenda.
I'm likely going to go to a 4" downpipe and 3.5" exhaust, 3" boost piping, a 4" intercooler, possibly a LIPP intake manifold (maybe a short-runner, not...
I was just in a thread where I saw them in a 7M plug valley- looked OK, but yes a bit tall.
Found it: post 59

Oh my...
3 major options:
1- Maft Pro
2- HKS alphabet soup (VPC namely, others may be needed as well)
3- Standalone in Speed-density mode.
That's organized from cheapest to most expensive...
Spec PT, baby! (need a trans that will shift before I go spend that cash, though.)
I've been rolling the T56 idea in my head, but I'm not sure if I can make the speedo and ABS sensor work with it :(
Dyno operator was saying he thought the clutch may have been slipping- I can't confirm so I'll just upgrade it once I land a new transmission :bigthumb:
Welcome, Tyler! You'll get a ton on info here for every kind of engine swap/rebuild/etc for putting your car together!
Even if you go for that LQ4 Sean had ;)
Much better location!
First question I have is about the CEL. Is your Check engine light on and have you checked it for codes? Ofter the computer will see something it doesn't like and respond in odd ways, but it will set a code most if the time. Use a paper clip to jump terminals E1 and TE1...
The middle and front holes are M12x1.25, and the rear one is M14x1.5 :)
So you need a M12x1.25 to -6AN adapter. I like Summit, due to the easy searching for fittings. www.summitracing.com
Edit: This should work nicely: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-949091ERL/
Take the intake manifold apart and clean the movements inside so it works again. You would be well served in the 7MGE section if you look around, I'm sure there's a thread on how to do it.
Here's a description of how the system works...
Settle down, now. People are trying to help you out, whether you like their suggestions or not.
Steven89, no need to bash him with the 240 comment, lets try to stay positive people!
IMO, your first car should be a small econo-box. Corolla, Civic, Sentra, etc. If you crash it, its not that big of a deal, and you can keep it as a Daily Driver when you eventually get a 'fun' car.
Please no Fram filter. Wix, Purolator, Amsoil, anything but fram...
Looks OK, but the 8 micron filter may be unneeded/unwanted? Jdub will have more accurate info on that, I think.
