How does the tranny fluid look? If its all burned to shit I wouldnt even bother changing it because it'll just make the slipping worse. Unless you already changed out burn fluid that could be the problem. Trans probably just needs a rebuild.
5-speed running higher than auto? My 89 r154 turns 3k...
Yea thats a pretty odd problem. Have you contacted Toyo about this?
I've never had any problems with Toyo proxes tpt and t1r's. I love the t1r's. I've put 30k miles on the proxes and about 10 on the t1rs.
Stock cams? If so, set the engine to TDC, look and make sure the 0 marks on the cam gears line up with the cover(they should be straight up) and make sure the cps is properly aligned too. If it idles, check timing with a timing light.
Just make sure the fan clutch you installed isn't shot. When you spin the fan by hand(while cold) it should not really even make one full rotation. If it spins too easy, it needs a rebuild.
And as already stated, use a genuine Toyota thermostat.
My money is on the radiator being partially...
Yeap..You usually cant hear the turbo spool when free revving..Doesnt matter if its a DBB or not..
The srt4 comment is correct.. I had a friend with one and that damn thing would blow off when he was barely revving it reversing out of a parking space.
Interesting. I was riding in my buddy's '08 M5 and noticed that its operating temperature is 215*F. I thought it was a little high. Im not sure if it being a v10 would have anything to do with it.
I know a light coat of flat black paint wont hurt the efficiency of an intercooler much but...
I needed about two feet vac hose and a local parts store just gave it to me.
If im looking for a certain sized hose, I just bring in a piece of the old hose and match it up and guess how much i need.
Most of the guys here that do race do it on the interstate usually around midnight or 1am. Ive done it a few times and there has been no one on the road except a few trucks but we were in front of them anyway.
