You'd be surprised at what you can still order for our cars. They still have plenty of parts! I check often...sometimes for random crap that I'm thinking about doing.
Tried the DIS 4 box and couldn't get it to work
properly even with their tech support. They were kind enough to take it back. We tried the tach adapter, bypass plug, shooting wires, etc and just couldn't get it happy. Stock setup works VERY well.
I think this would be awesome to match with a 4.30 rear end to get the max mechanical advantage on the low end and still do about the same cruising on the highway. Subscribed!
Figgie, did you notice any outgassing (or whatever you want to call it) with the "Ice" product? I've noticed some cleaners will do that and leave the film on the inside of my windshield when it's baked in the sun.
The bad part about that one is that you can't open the hood with it on. I had one for a little while and sold it on here later on. Hell, I might have bought yours, Mike. I can't remember...
True, those work well, but why didn't Toyota just put one on there like the A/C or alternator belt? It seems like there could have been a way to make that happen...
I know, thread from the dead, but....
This is one of those things where I wonder why we don't have a tensioner like the A/C and the water pump/alternator belt.
Has anybody custom made one or what are the best techniques for getting the tension right?
Looking forward to seeing how this works out as well. Now that I'm back to an area of higher heat and humidity, I want the A/C to blow ice cubes in traffic!
I get really cold air at freeway speeds, it's just when I'm slower in town that it's not doing as good as the R12.
I used a Centerforce Dual Friction II for many years at the 484 rwhp level. I wrote it up in the review section, I think. Very nice daily driver clutch...they just won't guarantee it past 90% of stock. I followed the prescribed break-in period and didn't have any trouble with it!
Figgie,
That is actually one of the Painless products in the picture. The PP looks like a good product, but I'm trying to see what other people have done. Jegs also sells the 7 ignition hot circuit one which is what I'm looking at right now....
