+1 to that. It really sounds like a bad connection. Just check all your connections as already suggested. Sounds like a lose ground to me.

Hvy is right rr ,rl, fr,fl, is how you bleed brakes. Now for the prob you are haveing is your master cylinder leaking? Check your floor board for fluid. Mine is leaking now it sucks.

Ok I have seen this before. On the cam there are three dowl pins and a bolt that hold the cam gears on. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But on the motor that have seen that had the similar prob the dowl pins had wore out and broke off the cam leaving only the bolt to hold it and that won't work...

^ yep sounds like you need a new master cylinder or slave cylinder. How is the fluid in the resivior? Is there any fluid leaking on the inside of the car? Check over by the foot rest on the floor board. You have a leak some where if it worked fine before. I'm leaning more towards the master...
