I ran redline for quite a while but after expanding my oil system and with more plans to increase the capacity in the near future I switched to GC. (the 5+ a filter deal at autozone didnt hurt either). If I could get a deal on it Id switch back in a heartbeat. The GC is very good oil and for...
I would also recommend a different oil 5 or 0-30, preferably 0. Try crawling under the car when it is running see if that gives you a better Idea if its coming from the pan or something else.
I used an air grinder to do most of the work and then a good file to finish it up and make it smooth with the rest of the cover.
So for quite a while my car has had a little bit of smoke when I boost hard, normal for a ct with some miles on it. Recently it has started smoking at idle, and...
:word8kn:
But Luis don't you dare go 1J on me!!!
Kenny, I think I will stick with this head, but I will let you know if that changes. It passed the harness test, is straight an although the surface looks bad (mostly because I havent cleaned it all since it will be surfaced) It will...
I would think it would be streetable with the stroker, I dont know if you would want to change it much with your goals on the strip. I was hoping you would say pauter with the pistons speeds your going to see.
I hear you on the head work, I'm porting my intake side right now and am not...
Its cuz he wasnt double clutchin like he should!
I considered doing this as well a while back, I was plannin on only running a little juice to see how it would react but I was worried about getting water pooling in the inter cooler. I thought about taking the front end off and doing a few...
So what are your goals with the car? The stoker kit should help but your right that is an all out race turbo and I would think it will be a bit laggy for a street car. You also didnt mention what rods you are going with?
Looking good so far though. In for updates
Well get that thing done! I wanna see it :D
Kenny, a bit delayed but ask and you shall receive
They are still pretty rough but the majority of the work is done, now they just need polished up.
Heres what the jackets and surface of my new head look like...
If you get a new MKIV, fuel pump for $125 your getting a knock off ;) They are a great pump but no where near that cheap, I'm running one so I have researched
I think the set I pulled out of the other head will work out for me, but I'll keep it in mind and appreciate the offer matt
I wasnt planning on putting any up until they are worked out some more, Im hitting them with a candy translucent powdercoat so they have to be fully polished :sonic...
Most likely valve tick if you are running stock injectors, 550s+ are a little noisy. The 7M has a somewhat tappy top end as is but I would recommend checking your valve lash as needed maintained is often skipped on these cars.
1JZ chainsaw rev>2JZ rev>7M rpm increase (AKA torque)
Fixed ;)
Good news! cams and caps from the other head look much better, I had to work most of the day, and afterwards went to a show and almost had to throw down with some little punk bitches:icon_evil so thats all I had time to do. Tomorrow I have the whole day with Delilah:naughty: so progress and...
stroke has a lot to do with it, If oversquare was ideal the big boys wouldnt run 3.4 kits on their 2Js, or even make one for the 7M for that matter.
I <3 the sound of my 7M nice and throaty but enough pitch to it so people know its no V8
I'm planning on powdercoating them too, I am thinking of going with 50% gloss black after seeing duanes and what they look like new. I am also going to seal it with a bead of silicon so it will act as it did new. I might op for new ones down the road when the car gets new paint and Im out of...
Lame, how many miles are on it? If its slipping now you would be better off with a good stocker! Thats what Im on until the motor new motor is done and goes in. I'v had 0 issues, but Im not racing it so no excessive launches. I think I'll go with an ACT as well, but I dont know which one yet...
