you can shim ur own valves in a day. Keep the cams straight up and down for now until you can get to a dyno. You don't need a lot of tools really... just some of ur time. just use a feeler guage and turn the crank. If a shim needs to be replaced, identify it, measure it with a micrometer...

Depending on the cam manufacturer, you may not need to adjust the cam gear or the shims. Look at ZaZZn's power on the 67 with BC cams, mid 600's @ 24psi on pump with zero degree changes made to the cam (straight up and down IIRC), but they are 2JGTE cams. OP is using Brian Crower, not Crower...
