Thanks for the advice guys! I just ordered one of the cables for my power antenna, along with a bunch of other little OEM goodies for my 4Runner. Hopefully the replacement goes smoothly once I have time to get to it. If I have any questions I'll be sure to ask.
You might be able to buff some of that out. Unfortunately you won't be able to find a perfect set considering the newest ones will still be 22 years old at this point. I would keep looking, there are always new things popping up every so often there.
Try ebay, there's usually a set or two there, but they cost a pretty penney. I wish the pre89 trim would fit on them. If they did I would probably have a set of the JDM tailights by now.
Maybe when you pull it there is a part number or so on it that you could research to try and get some...
You will need a stronger clutch I believe though. From what I've read the stock W58 clutch will slip even at stock HP levels from the GTE. Not all N/A cars had an LSD, you got the LSD with the Sport Package, so if your car has/had TEMS then you have an LSD.
Me too. I would do everything in my power to bring my Supra and make a nice road trip out of it. I would love to see that side of the country. The furthest west I've ever been is Arizona and that was almost 10 years ago now. It's beautiful out there, and completely different from down here in...
Congratulations on the awards Rodel. One day I would like to make it to Supras in Vegas, too bad its so far from me. I really like the way your huge brakes look behind those wheels. Very nice.
Haha, that's kinda weird. It's one of the rarest colors for the mk3, I didn't expect your car to originally have been that color.
Go ahead and post the picture, and then when your car is done you can post pictures of that too!
I like the red and the blues. Another color to consider is 4J7, only available for the 89 model year and it is a beautiful color. It's definitely different.
No MK3 came with passenger air bags as far as I know. I've never seen anyone add a driver's side air bag either. It would probably not be worth it, but may be possible. Maybe you can be the first one to do so, but it would probably be a lot of work.
Thanks for the info!
When you did the replacement in the car did you leave the plastic panels in the back in or did you take them out? I'm not sure yet if I want to try this in the car or not, but I am glad that I now know what needs to be replaced and that it is a cheap fix.
I thought about trying to put a different connector on the end, but I don't really have the skills and wasn't brave enough to try it. Honestly if I can get my power antenna to function properly all the time I'll be happy with that. Today I tried to get it to stick and listen for a clicking...
I would think as long as the size is very close to the original one it would work, or look a lot better at least. I didn't think about the temperatures, and have no clue what types of plastic you can use in a 3D printer. You should get one for work and start making these for the community!
I'm not sure if the antenna makes a clicking noise or not, I haven't noticed one, but I also have not been listening for one. I'll try and see if I can get the antenna to stop partially up and see if I can hear a clicking noise. I know I can still hear the motor turning inside when it does stop...
