that aristo with the red interior is beutiful. I drove that car at work. It may be bright red, but pictures do not do that car justice. You can actually smell how new the interior is. Absoulutly wonderful
lol, those two cars were bought by brothers, i was talking with them when they...
Well, i will be going with the original idea first, but once that is done and i have the molds made, i can work on changing it around a little bit. From the sounds of things though, im might be on my own for getting this started. Most people want and "evolved" version of what ive got in mind
then get stay out of my thread and have a nice day. Im motivated to make this part as cost efficent as possable. Another thing I said was, that it might be more, and thats its still to early to tell. Your comments are not wanted in this thread.
all i said was i agree, and stated a reason behind it. I think RHD is pretty fucking cool. I just see alot of oung kids buy RHD cars and hurt themselves and others, causing accidents. Origonaly RHD cars were allowed becasue they were a "collecter item" and were rare to see on the roads. Now...
i went dowm to Pacific Raceways and watched the top fuel cars for a day. Absolutly amazing. When i left, my shirt had unburnt fuel all over it, becasue i was sitting right behind the track. Those cars dont drive straight either
it seems like alot of people want an xbrace with a removable roof, im going to try to go this route if i can.
i think i may be able to achive this if the CF roof would be moreless a shell, with guides in and X shape on the underside, so that the xbrace would fit inside these guides. Along the...
What im aiming for is for the brace to bolt into the stock location, having the CF top attached to the brace. Does that make sense? Because ive got a great idea in my head, and i sometimes find good ideas are hard to explain for others.
I do like the structural foam idea, that could cut back...
Thanks, im going to do that. Might speed up the process greatly
roughly, a whole lot lighter. I could have the brace made out of steel, but im going to stick with aluminum because i want this top to be lighter than stock, while adding stiffness to the car. I might have an idea when we...
thats the idea i am aiming for, and im going to do everything i can to make the brace intergrated with the CF roof. When making the roof supports out of fiberglass, i may be able to cut an X out and have room for the brace.
im going to try and do this, but as of right now its still way to...
Basicly yes. The idea is this would replace the OEM roof. I want it to fit as well as a stock targa roof. Good enough to be a OEM targa replacment. Im hoping to have the X-Brace intragrated with the roof, so that the brace and the roof were 1 complete peice.
One of my next steps in...
I know it has been discussed before, and after a whole lot of talk and no action i decided to take some of my own. I have found a guy who is willing to make the mold, he knows of a few other guys who are willing to make the parts once the mold is made. I told him id get back to him in the new...
