wow hey its been a while :) just got my cable from aaron ( sent me 2jzge on accident) 2jzgte fits like it was meant for the car, i adjusted the bolts (broke whatever loctite was holding the first bolt) and wow :) i need pictures...
bled the clutch too and took off the 2jz crank pulley bolt...
theres lots of ways to tell.
i suggest getting a haynes book and reading it and also check out the tsrm afterwords (its meant for toyota mechanics vs haynes a home mechanic)
either of these are great for general maintenance

i have run into tweakers that will bail as soon as you give them money. 1000 is too cheap unless they are uncertified + you have alll of the parts needed
wikipedia is garbage. do not rely on it for useful information
in college if you use it as a source you are fucked. unless your teacher is an idiot and/or doesnt care
look at my build thread i have a list.
might be cheaper to go for 1jz mounts(if rubber part is bad you can reuse 7m's), parts store P/S line from a 2jz (mine was 58$) and i bought my lower pans for 150$ that was from a 1jz and included oil baffle, pickup, bought a new gasket for the pickup...
