ok 1st off, do not listen to those guys..., there are only 3 places where you can get smoke from (OIL) asumeing it is oil you ARE burning Turbo seals Rings, and valves, that being said start lookin
smoke colors follows, White coolant, blue oil, black fuel
well if the bolt snaped you got to get the snaped part out of the head ARP is ARP, you would have striped the threads in the head before braking a ARP bolt
every bolt on my motor that has to do with topend and bottom end is ARP
NEVER had any problems
sounds more like your idle control valve is not working, if i am right it works as a bypass from the throttle body to actively control the idle, i hear that sometimes they get stopped up. when i cleaned mine the mesh was full of carbon and gunk.
why would you want to remove it at all, it COOLS down the Temp in the CYLINDERS i know guys that have 1000hp cars and run them, hell they even have a switches to turn them on before and after a dyno pull
its common sense to keep it ON and even more so with the USDM ecu.
just my 2 cents
i have gone before, its cool but make sure your car is in tip top shape
its the perfect place to log a top speed for you're car mine toped out at 175 (clocked via laser)
