The turbo is attached to the exhaust manifold which is attached to the head. If you take the head off the turbo is coming with it. I took my turbo off before I removed the head because its heavy as balls and I don't have an engine hoist.
Check and see if your fenderwells are secure. One of my retaining screws fell out and when I would turn the plastic fenderwell would hit the tire and bounce off causing a "thumping" sound.

To take it off you need a 10mm socket and a rachet and it should be pretty self explanitory.
To rid yourself of it follow step number one and when you are done discard into a garbage receptical. Just don't expect...
At 12psi I ran a 14.3 @ 99. My first time to the track on street tires and a crappy track.
As far as blowing the hg theres one way to find out as all Supras react differently.
