Lol @ clerical error. But makes for excellent controlled experiment
So now i'm wondering if both the 6m crank and 7m crank are balanced identically on a machine how come the 7m is still smoother in application? Does it have something to do with the combustion stroke vs counter weighted and non...
Damn IJ that sounds like a much better idea than what I have done. I had the option to use either crank since i trashed my original one before the first rebuild but went for 6m due to my knowledge at the time telling me it was the better option. Since balancing, the engine is ultra smooth anyway...
My car is equipped with the TRD lsd. I don't know much about its stats since i purchased the car this way but i can tell you that it has a good locking action and creates predictable and controllable overseer when wanted :D
very cool. and the motors equipped with 6m crank have a higher red line than the 7m crank ones yes? Its like 6500rpm vs 6250rpm isn't it? I decided since i was balancing internals that the 6m crank would be better since it weighs less.
mabye just prelube it a little. Thats what the TSRM tells you to do i think. Tranny might me leaking around the shifter gaskets. i pulled my trans out last night since i broke something in it (didnt know that was possible for r154) and found that the shifter was the source of my slow leak.
As far as i know they don't need to be re-torqued at all. Mine have been used twice also due to engine failure for unrelated reasons on first build. And I have been boosting the engine pretty hard with no issues. I thought re-torquing head bolts/studs was more dependent on the gasket used not...
Wish i had seen this sooner. I found supramania while researching info on 2jz conversions for mk3 supras but i stayed with the 7m in the end. This forum has proved invaluable for ongoing information for my self taught car obsession. And to HKS_TRD I kept my ac as its totally necessary for an...
Yeah according to the TSRM things are within acceptable levels. I was worried that the situation may have changed due to my larger main bearing clearances (.0025inch) i defiantly want to stick with the 0w-40 as the idea of honey thick oil when cold sounds pretty scary.
Okay so ive installed all the aforementioned bits and pieces that jdub recommended to me. I have filled the engine with castrol edge 0w-40 oil. It holds good oil pressure when the engine is being revved. It has a .7bar increase per 1000rpm with about a 4.5-5 bar max when oil is hot (90-95degrees...
hey guys sorry no updates in a while. ive installed all the components and its looking awesome. welded up custom brackets for the remote filter and thermostat and welded them all into place on the chassis. looks really good. made up some custom brackets for the intercooler also and its all...
Hmm that would be a good idea. but since im incapable of thinking outside the box ive already gone and made some permanent modifications to fit it in the front bar. got the new intercooler. its looking good but is a fair bit heavier than standard unit. ive got a good idea of what i need to do...
okay figured i could fit it in the upper part of the front lip. in between the upper grilles. also have to fit inter-cooler, oil cooler and power steering cooler in that space. It will all go in i just have to make up a heap of awesome brackets and figure out a way to strengthen the bonnet clip...
hmmm with the solenoid valve and t peice attached to the end of the accumulator its going on 2 ft long. it wont fit where its pictured above. looks like i might be able to get it in under the left front fender. just in front of the wheel arch.
heres some pictures of all my awesome new junk
exciting
earls 19row cooler is impressive
assorted fittings, i got a few more than i need for flexibility of installation
i put my accusump in the same place as IJ did with his 7m build. its a good spot but hard to get into
tight
hey thats good to know. yeah thats how ive got it dummy wired was just about to test it but wanted to double check first. Thanks IJ, man your quick at replies. your "IJ sence" was tingling :p
