This to all the real Supra techs. What was changed about the Mk4 engine
by Toyota to gain HP and relyability. On the outset they both seem to be
close in specs?? 3.0 liter 24 valve head both turbo (although the Mk4 is
twin turbo that should only improve throttle response maybe no). Is...
In my humble opinion- yes it might all things being equal (both used on a
Naturaly aspirated engine) however with the turbo being able to create a
positive pressure in the intake side this difference does not come into play---
Well said. Probably better to safe than sorry. But looking at the "Old School
Supra Website" This guys car is heavly modified and says he has 49,000 miles
with the pulley with no problems????
What is the general consensus on these? Was looking at the Unorthordox
Racing crank pulley. Now from what I can find seem there are those that say
that they are fine no problems (Old school Supra website) then there are those that say NEVER use one (Sonic Supras webpage).
A search of this...
Had the same problem with mine-it was coming in at the top of the taillight
because the gasket was rotted away. Now this was on the jack side.
The other side it leaked around the antena. You would be amazed at how much water can come thru a tiny hole during heavy rain. The lip around the hatch...
I find myself needing to do a knock sensor rewire (code 52). Have gotten
the wire and am willing to remove the intake manifold to get at the knock sensors.
How hard is it to get to the ECU (to run the new knock sensor wire) the TRSM is not clear on this. Thanks for your tips.
Cheers,
PS...
If your getting water in the pockets where the jack goes it is coming in
around your tail light - the gasket has dried out letting water in remove the
tail light and replace the gasket. The leak is at the top of the tail light where
the water runs down around the tail light. Now on the...
There are 3 or 4 of these currently on Ebay ranging from $149 to $400.
Is there much gain to be had from these. Just looking, they apear to be better flowing than the stock item maybe this is not so. Anybody use one
of these? Are there issues with fitting etc.? Is there much improvment in HP?
Carpet in my 87T 5sp is orig. and the heel pad has become unglued.
It looks like some type of white epoxy was used by the factory. In any case what type of glue could you use to anchor this back down? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Cheers,
Correct, 1500 mile changes definitly will not hurt, however it is truly
overkill. 3000 intervals is still more than needed. Toyota says every
5000 for the 7M-GTE or every 6 mos. Oh and yes 20-50 is stated for
most temp. ranges. This is all from the Toyota TRSM and owners manual.
I change...
I also live in Fla. (central Fla.) my Supra leaks at the back corner of the sunroof on the drivers side (drips) and when you apply the brakes you get a waterfall out the front corner on both sides. Using spray silicone on the rubber slowed things down but did not stop it.
This car also has...
Thanks for the tips guys, as I work full time I do not have the time or
place to sort this thing out. Our homeowners assoc. does not permite you
to work on a vech. outside. SO it is at the Toyota dealership being diagnosed as I write this. It is curious that this problem started once or...
Yesterday drove to work all was fine, went out to the car to drive home
and the supra started but did not have "any" power at all. It was acting
like it did once when I forgot to reconect the air flow meter would start run
but would not except and throttle. Anyway I nursed the car about 4-5...
