Import Performance Parts makes a stroker kit for the 7m's . This is directly from their site. Pretty awesome gains if u ask me, I'm guessing the 2js would gain even more power. After 4 months of Dyno Testing, our non-turbo DOHC motor produced 259 HP and 247lbs of torque. The Turbo produced...
I was putting my car back together the other night, reinstalling my transmission and driveshaft. I noticed that it looks like the driveshaft is adjustable where the center bearing bolts up to, I'm guessing it was out of adjustment because it was leaking a little bit at the back of the output...
I'm looking to getting a set of crower cams but i'de like to know what the stock 7m-ge lift and duration is so i can compare to the crowers stage 2 and stage 3 cams. I plan on getting the stage 2 cams, Has anyone installed these on their 7m-ge? gains? Added torque? high rpm power? How much...
I'll take a pic of it the flywheel later, But It looks the same as the crank, kind of boogered up. On the bottom of the crank is where toyota attempted to repair, but they decided it needed a new crank.
only when free reving at high rpm. When i take up to 4k it's Super smooth power, but at 5,000rpm+ there's a vibration like there's a lot of rotating mass and seems like it's not very well balanced.
what do u mean mark it?... I left the clutch on the car when i had toyota look at it, They just pulled it off. I've had the vibration ever since i had it rebuilt...
Well it's a freshly rebuilt engine with less than 7k... There was a vibration at high rpm... I hate this so much, I'll get some pics of it to give you a good idea of what it looks like.
Well toyota called me today and told me that they'de have to pull the engine and have the crankshaft replaced or repaired so they said it would cost over $2,000 so i'm just gonna try to get it back together and running myself. Is there anything i can do about trying to get the surface flat...
Ok, i've got an update of the problem, what happend is one of the flywheel bolts broke off some how... Well i guess they backed themselfs out and it caught on the disc and screwed up the rivets on the disc, the reason why they backed them selfs off is the crankshaft where the flywheel bolts up...
I pulled the transmission tonight and it all looks fine, no play in the throwout bearing or the pilot bearing, Everything looks fine, the clutch slave and master are new and in good working condition.... I'm gonna have Toyota look at it for me, since i don't know what's wrong.
Ok, here's an update on this problem... when i first start up the car i can push the clutch in and put it into gear, After about 5 times pushing the clutch in and putting it in gear, It will then not allow me to put it in gear, seems like maybe my clutch slave cylinder isn't pushing the pressure...
I haven't tried it yet, but tomorrow i'll give it a try.... it's weird whenever i rev it in neutral it revs freely with no drag but when i put it in gear and try to engage the clutch it jerks violently and sounds like somethings loose inside the bell housing, it don't really know how to adjust...
