its like any other tranny once yourve done one you can do any other one. except that the mkiii trannies are gay. one tip tho take out the starter first and if you have problems get a scissor (sp) jack and stick it under the front of the engine and jack it up so you can pitch the whole thing...

I had the same problem with my jdm mirrors. just kept folding and unfolding. so i cut the wires problem fixed! lol But in your case check the wires and make sure none are exposed and touching each other.

well what i think caused the rod knock was the 207k on the motor...
