Doing this wet test will rule out your bottom end. After that is out, your left with either your head gasket or valves. You can rule out the valves by doing a leakdown test
That is really bad news Rufus, I thought you just needed to dial the car in and you were set. Which one do you think is the culprit headgasket, valve, or the rings?
The first girl I dated used to always name her cars and wanted to name mine. I let her with the condition of it being somewhat of a manly name. Ended up with Katana and it stuck (I’m Hispanic and it has a nice ring to it with a Spanish accent). I like it but don't refer to it by name in public...
I've talked to him quite a bit about that already, but he insists that the money it would take to rewire the interior of the car and buy back everything he got rid of will come out to be more expensive and more of a hassle than to just part this one out and buy another one. He has two built...
I liked the direction of the video as well. Not all about stats and numbers, although impressive make videos boring.
He reminds me of a buddy of mine with his MK4 that has also gone overboard with his build and now regrets it. He stripped up the interior including wire harnesses and for the...
I used to go to Biffs religiously every Friday night back when I lived in town. It was kind of a bummer when they started charging to park but they did start making it an event with music and such; the receipt that they gave was also a discount on a burger so it worked out and I didn’t mind...
My oil pan is just a factory powdercoated one so nothing special there. The shortblock does have a crank scrapper but i dont think that has anything to do with it........Oh well, can't really complain about more oil in the drain pan. I've been thinking of sending my spare one out to Driftmotion...
I don't think the K&N is a bad filter but the AEM dryflow has out performed the K&N in almost every test aside from airflow as GrimJack stated.
The tests were done with filter size 4" inlet & 9" tall accross the board
It was more convenient for me to get the K&N at the time since it was...
Damn that is a good deal; the extended performance Mobil 1 from the Autozone special is also at a good price $26.97.(http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-Extended-Performance-10W-30-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-5-qt/17128878) Although that is without the Mobil 1 filter which is usually another $10...
What i understood was that for the first 1,500 miles your supposed to use conventional oil to help seat the rings after that you should be good for synthetic.

+1 on the K&N filter. I found mine locally at Pep Boys and was told that they keep it in stock; a bit more convenient although ordering online isnt as much of a hassle as it once was
