Thats true, I have about 30k on my block since the rebuild. But I wouldn't try pushing any tired motor hard.
Being seasoned over 15 years??? Maybe they will burn better... You crack me up..
I have run up to 24psi on stock pistons and rods without any problem on multiple occasions. I just make sure my tune is good and I have plenty of race gas.
I have the old style HKS cast manifold that I just bought off one of the members here. It actualy looks like a better design than the newer ones, with longer runners and a straighter path to the collector.
I'm 8 months into my maaco paint job. I got the presidential paint job which at the time was half price($250). I also got some dents and dings removed, and also an extra clear coat. The total bill was $790. This is not a show car finish, there are some flaws hear and there close up. But the...
I beleive 20psi is too much for pump gas when your at stock compression, even on 94 octane. The summer heat probably caused that much more detonation which probably finished off your gasket. Good luck on the new headgasket job.
Just getting a turbo like the bolt-on SP61GT along with supporting mods will get you there. All you need is the simple bolt-ons that enhance flow, and the fuel system that can support that horsepower. Along with a fuel tuning device and a boost controller.
The bolt-on SP61GT like I have was $1150, but I think the price may have gone up a little. The upgraded CT-26 can easily make high 300rwhp numbers with a good tune and 18-20psi, with some people making over 400rwhp. But thats about the limit.
I had a CT-26 upgrade and it ran fine while I had it. The spoolup is very quick because of the small turbine side. But if you are looking for nice topend power, a full T4 like the SP61GT or T3/T4 turbo will allow your engine to rev like you never thought a 7M could. The CT-26's hot side really...
A few things to keep in mind before you make this decision. The MK4 is a complex car that is getting old too. They may be somewhat more reliable than the MK3, but it can't escape age and milage especially a sports car. Meanwhile the prices on the used market are still very high. Mostly 20k+. Too...
I already tryed to explain this to you. To get 500rwhp you will have certain amount of lag no matter what turbo you choose. There are no majic turbos. Twins are going to cost you way over $2000 when all the plumbing, manifold, turbos are complete. If you go single you will need a T4 size turbo...
