Check the wiring harness that runs on top of the valve covers behind the timming cover infront of the coil cover. You may have a burnt wire. That is what I had on my old motor. I just replacd the harness on that motor.
You will have extra connectors that go to the transmission but you will have to rewire a couple of wires. Will you consider a trade for a 87-88 5-speed wiring harness for your 88 auto wiring harness? If so PM me. Thanks.
