How do you get rid of the rev limiter and how do you know that you don't have valve float?

well thats shitty considering stock red line is 7500....pretty much have to upgrade valve train right away then...but does anyone know any actual physical indication or is it just spring rate and velocity calculations. I could use theory and calculate the theoretical acceleration of the spring...

If i were to upgrade to better cams that can bring out my power curve a lil further. How do i know when i am getting to the limits of my valve train. How can i tell when i'm starting to get valve float and how i determine a safe limit to red line at?

Well, this post has pretty much already covered the diff between stock and 2jz and crowers, i'm just trying to figure out the diff between those and the big $500+ cams out there and y they're that much more expensive.

ok so as long as the valve covers are properly ventilated then the crank case is too. And so i should still replace the pcv and hose with the new 2jz one then right?

    Catch can

ok so if i set it up like this, i will be getting rid of the line to the intake manifold all together correct. So then i will not need to worry about the whole upgrading the check valve right? what about the crank case? Where does that draw vaccum from and should i be worrying about that too...

Just curious if someone could now throw up some comparison graphs for other cams and see what the diff is between stock, 2jz modded, crower, hks, JUN, etc and a lil price comparison. I tried searching for some comparison graphs of jun and hks but couldn't find any. Thanks!

Ok, i am so very confused with this topic. Mainly because i haven't seen any diagrams of these systems. It would be awesome if some had diagrams. Anyway this is what i am understanding so far. Please do not hesitate to correct me or throw anything else in. I have a catch can and want to use...

    Differances in 1J revision

Sorry for these lame questions but i have 2: -how can i check my egt's and what should they be -how do i install my oil catch can? Where do i run my lines? Sorry if these have been asked in previous threads but i tried searching for both on the site and google and didn't find much for 1jz...

    Differances in 1J revision

Based on this then is it safe to say that if i were to make custom intake piping right off the turbo's, then it would eliminate the problems of the 1st gen and i would then have the same if not better performance than the 2nd gen?

    Differances in 1J revision

Sorry if this sounds noobish but how can i identify the generation of my motor? I just bought the car with the swap already done. Are there identification numbers somewhere or can i tell by certain parts? edit: oops just noticed the picture link above.

    vvti 2jz?

Here's my take on this. The whole point of the vvti is not really to increase overall power, rather to produce low end torque/power while maintaining high end power. Basically it will give you as mentioned above "torque everywhere". Whether you should get it or not depends on your interests. If...

    What's up everyone!

Yeah, thats the thing i think is the main issue. Because the car is so heavy it takes a really stiff suspension to keep it from rolling to much. The trick i think once i get to lightening the car will be to take out all the upper weight and try to lower the CG.

    What's up everyone!

Yeah i've heard that the largest problem is the fact that the car is just so heavy? From your experience what did you find you had trouble with. maintaining the drift, and keeping the angle i'd imagine. I haven't had that much experience getin my last supra sideways seeing as it was a 7M and...

    What's up everyone!

Yeah, actually i've been trying to find some other people tryin to drift their supra's. I don't know anyone in my region that does, all the events usually just have 240's, AE86's and skylines. Anyone have experience drifting their supras that they wanna share?
