I couldn't find an engine in a junkyard locally... Just price out everything that you may need and make sure you're gonna make enough money from it to justify the work, you don't wanna put an engine in to make $50. :icon_razz

Autozone, etc will sell a little kit in their HELP! section or w/e, to replace the inside of the cable, all you have to do us pull/whatever off the old plastic peice and you crimp a metal one on. You have to remove the cable to do it, but it's super easy. Come to think of it, you may have...

Pull the gauges back out, chances are you broke the little plastic "needle" that goes into the speedo itself off. It may not look broken, but the thing is supposed to stick out some insane amount. Repair kit is about $7 or something. EZ fix

Take the valve covers off and look and see if any place(s) look different than the others? That loud 'knocking' or however you referred to it is probably a lifter gone flat. I'd recomend running a bit of ATF in your oil. It fixed my problem.

Any idea on a price?
