I'd email whichever sactioning body you are going to run with an ask them.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it would be a problem. In the higher classes of SCCA, GT1-5, and the Production classes, they are no longer door slammers.
But then again, I highly doubt you'd be running...
They do great work there, well worth shipping a rim and getting it fixed.
In my case, it was drive down with shitty looking wheels, drive out with a brand new set of wheels and tires in no time flat. And this was on a Saturday morning....
The only thing they didn't do on my sawblades was...
