    Interesting head gasket experience

While I agree with the others (you may as well use a MHG at this point) I've seen many engines use shims with a stock head gaskets without any problems. With your shim there should have been an instruction sheet with a permatex or equivalent part number to apply to the shim prior to...

    Interesting head gasket experience

Check to make sure the front aluminum cover is not holding the head up. Compare your new head bolts to your old head bolts to verify they are the same. (may I ask why you got new ones btw?) Did you clean the threads in the block out? the bolts shouldn't be bottoming out that close to where...

Need help, sad face sad face

    Compression Woes

If the oil didn't change the compression that doesn't mean it is necessarily time to rebuild the entire engine. That would indicate the compression loss is less likely to be the rings and more likely to be head gasket and/or poorly sealing valves. The block wouldn't necessarily need to be all...

MK3 Supra 350 Small Block swap

Oh come on IJ. you've seen enough of my posts that you should know better than that. I'll see what I can do about some proof of numbers here, that was not an estimation based on what it is in the engine. I do have dyno time.

MK3 Supra 350 Small Block swap

Lol, fail. Including a Fully rebuilt 350 with its fair share of goodies, 150 shot of nitrous, and everything necessary to install it brand new, I won't be over 1500$ CAD. My build has some goodies that are not necessary, they are in fact overkill. I'm running low 400WHP that can run...

MK3 Supra 350 Small Block swap

Fair response to my question, but I feel i should elaborate. HP per dollar, the small block chevy is still the cheapest power on the planet. (383ci stroker to be exact) I agree, it is a dinosaur, but availability and cost of parts is so unbelievably low it is hard to contend with. Of course if...

My 86.5 - Powered by Chevrolet

I built new places for them to mount of course. I extended the old ones forward at a slightly different angle and boxed it all in. I will be using some form a torque strap too on both sides of the engine which helps a lot. I'll get pics when I can... It is all up to the snow though lol

My 86.5 - Powered by Chevrolet

Thanks for the good words guys. ForcedTorque - It is going to be a street car with a little bit of strip and hopefully track time. It sits about an inch higher now so I'm interested to see how much weight it lost. If you're talking about moldings/plastics they will all be going back on along...

My 86.5 - Powered by Chevrolet

I'll do point form of the history to attempt to keep it brief. -Purchased the car about 4 years ago. Had a broken windshield and missing front bumper at the time. Replaced everything it needed with my father. (This is my first car) -Drove the car for a year in stock form, including all...

    mk3 sbc swap

The tach will actually run if you connect one of the wires that went to the original coil to your distributor. I never tested to see how accurate it is or if it would burn anything up but it did temporarily appear to work great. (me and another guy I've been talking to have done it) I personally...
