Ok guys,
whats the deal on the oil pump? we are building up a spare engine for our lemons car, using a cresida core, leaving it pretty much stock except for ARP connecting rod bolts and head studs.
Gotta change the oil pan, we have that covered, but need to find an oil pump. does the...
Thanks guys,
we have had zero problems with the stock head gasket - 15 races, over 200 hours of road course racing , never once a head gasket issue - in fact, we have never opened up the engine except to put in ARP connecting rod bolts after race #1, since then it has been gas and go!
as...
So i know decking increases compression of the engine. I run an 88 7-MGE with maual trans in the 24 hours of Lemon series. I am wondering what decking would do for power - but much more importantly, does it reduce relaibility and longevity of the engine, and particularly does it make a BHG...
Thanks for the help,
It must have ARP studs installed, as it has the allen heads on top of the studs, and a 12 point nut down lower! I did rotate the cam so the little cutouts give access to the nuts, I'll go after it with a deep well 12 point today - thanks guys
OK guys Rookie here. I am taking off the head off an old motor, tio keep as a spare for our 24 hours of Lemons car. But i am stumped as to what tool to use to pull of the headbolts. it looks like it is a stud wirth a standard allen head, with a 12 point nut that needs to come off down below...
I need to put a quick release wheel on the lemons car. i can find wilwood and several others that have a weld on hub, but i would much rather have some sort of bolt on hub, in case I needed to pull it for some reason.
I find one for GM - 36 spline, or ford 40 spline - but i do not know...
Ok guys,
Just a shade tree mechanic here. I am replacing bushings with poly bushings on an 88 NA.
It appears as if the bolt is so rusted into the sleeve, that they are one piece of metal. So? what do i do now?
I do have a torch - do you cut off the nut and the head, then let it drop down...
those 255's fit onto 17 X 8.5 just fine - in fact I think that is recomended, wheel spacers/ adaptors will move the tires toward the fender , ie give you clearance issues when you turn the front wheels - they may rub. not sure why you want to go with adaptors - do you have the wrong offset...
Have you checked the fluid level again? sometimes even after burping there are a few hidden bubbles that slowly work them selves out. Some toyotas (like 4 runners) have this goofy system that use the PS pump to build vacuum for the brake system (GM hydroboost system does the same thing in a...
I know alot of you probably use all sorts of other oils - and I am sure they are far better, but for me, i will go with what toyota recomends - anyone help me out? synthetic? non? hibrid? weight? additive?
I'm betting they have their own brand like GM - but i just need to know what I...
Ok Guys, I need your tire / rim wisdom. i have an 87 and an 88 MkIII. They are both used in the 24 hours of lemons racing series. doing pretty well too - as far as i'm concerned.
Anyway we want to step up traction, cornering and breaking. Right now we are running stock rims - with falken...
Ok guys,
took an 88 down to bones and built it back up as a lemons racer, but now i have an electrical issue. the tailights and brake lights do not work - traced to the flasher switch being unplugged. We need em because it is a 24 hour endurance race, on an unlit track!
Unfortunately I...
