You had a catch can on the supra? That wasn't stock BTW. If you don't know the functions of what you want to take off, like the EGR most likely. It's best to leave it be.
I don't care for it really. Don't get me wrong, I love the MK4, but I prefer near stock looking cars to body kitted and widebodykitted cars anyday. A body kit that doesn't look radical and changes the shape, overall look of the car from stock is what I like.
I you want to get the best gas mileage and don't care about the people behind you, shift gears at about 2K RPM with slow, I mean slow acceration. If you don't want to go that route, then 2.5K is about where I'd do it.
I don't own a 1J, but from seeing a few, i'd guess that the couplers connecting both of the turbo's hardpipes together could start to crack and it would only open up under boost...
I've heard nothing but good things about multiplate clutches on the MKIII's from those rare few that have them. Soft clutch pedal feel, and really easy to slip. Are you sure that you are talking about a multiplate from an actual MKIII supra, or have you been hearing these things from other...

Doesn't sound like either from what you've just said... It's not uncommon for turbo's the spike, then fall back down to a lower level. You're using a manual boost controller for this I assume?
Ever seen the HKS BOV kit specifically for the 7M-GTE supra? Imagine that in place of the plastic pipe comming off of the 3000 pipe, and going to the one in the fender well and there you have it.
