that cressida is a horrible example of a jz swapped cressida. shane's 9 sec cressida is my favorite drag cressida

my first set grenaded one after the other within a span of 3 months since the 1JZ was swapped in. most likely just a bad set. the ceramic wheel pretty much completely discintegrated into bits on both turbos. the second set i pulled off my spare 1J has lasted me nearly 4 yrs until i replaced them...
haha yea, there's vids of it on the kaizen proving grounds as usual. will upload probably tonight.
btw aj, i think your battery cable thingaroo is in my box at the shop. let me know if there is anything else off the 7m you needed that you might have left behind
thanks! didn't think of it much at first, as it is a temporary setup until i get some tires back on my other wheels... but honestly, it grew on me lol.
i just got home about 30 min ago. jose and i finished up the downpipe and mated it to the old exhaust. i was suprised that the turbo wasn't...
the z32 caliper/rotors are an awesome upgrade for the cressida. i have the same setup and even with oem pads, the car stops great. the rotors on those things are 30mm wide!
been trying to work on it... but put about 2 days of work into it and haven't touched it since lol. customer cars have priority and i got really sick over the past few days... but it's soooo close to being finished.
tease
yea i know what you mean. a buddy of ours has an R32 gtr and that weird hood/grill bump is way noticable in person. it's a v-spec ii and the hood emblem looks like a silvia badge!!! i like the gtr grill overall because it's simple and sporty... but i like the seamless look of the gts.. and it...
yea, the main difference between MKIII suspension and Cressida is that the front suspension on the Cressida is a macpherson strut, similar to a AE86 corolla or MKII. the steering angle is probably very close to that of the S13. the rear is almost identical to the MKIII, except it has shorter...
looks to have a pretty clean GTE swap, nice find. it seems that 1j swaps are more common in the cressida than the 7M... the piping probably scares them P:
p.s. ditch the wheels!!
there are bolt on turbos and also bolt on turbos with manifolds that retain the stock turbo location. i've seen upgraded turbos that push about 380hp or so on 1 bar of boost and still retain good response. i think that was paired with the company's upgraded manifold though, not on the stock one...
yea i defintely have an attachment for this car. a guy who sold his 350Z once offered me $8K for my car from when it was a non-running work in progress car with an incomplete 1JZ (no harness/ecu) and no transmission and i still couldn't sell it!! eventual plans for the car is no more than 500hp...
almost 4 years ago when i first met jose (and brought my car to him), i had a mystery 1jz and a transmission that was sitting outside for who knows how long. i opted to buy a good tested engine and transmission at that time under his recommendation and just use the longblock/tranny i had as...
i think getting into the 12's shouldn't be too difficult with 400hp on tap. stock 1j'z swapped into the heavier mx83 will run mid to low 13's with an auto with just an exhaust
i've been lagging hardcore on the install, mainly because of how busy we've been at the shop. shooting for the weekend (for reals this time!) for install. according to our tuner, wakita, it's a laggy turbo from the early 90's lol... oh well i'll find out how it goes. i'll do a compression check...
