If you've seen my other recent threads, you'll know that my stock CT26 is not going to be boosting any time soon.
So I need another turbo.. Guess I'll have to buy from US as the market here in Norway is quite limited. Should I go for a used stock CT26 in good condition? Or should I go with...
Another thing I just noticed by looking at the pic is that it seems like it's missing a bit on the compressor axle end, just to the right of the nut. I've just left the Supra and driven home, but I'll be back working on it this weekend, så I'll be sure to check it out then.
Thanks for lots of...
I've looked everywhere on the AFM housing, the air filter, accordion hose.. everything looks ok. The AFM housing has this mesh guard, so can't have come anything from the filter(?). The AFM housing it self looks perfectly normal, as well as the accordion hose. Does it have to have been something...
Yep, happened after I bought it. When I bought it the compressor wheel was in good condition, from what I could see anyway. Nope, never had it running without filter. Always had stock accordian hose and apexi filter..
Yes. Have looked at the turbo-wheel(?) several times.. and just spoke to my brother, he said he checked the shaft play for about a week ago, and it was very minimum.
So got no idea how it happened.. it has to have been something with the turbo when I bought it.. oil pressure and everything else...
I found out the problem.. I'll get a pic up shortly.. only hint I can give is that I need a new turbo..

Just went out for a run, pulled a error code 34 which is turbo... started a new thread about codes.. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?123812-Error-code-34%28turbo%29-and-52%28knock-sensor%29..&p=1572482#post1572482
Hey,
So I reset the codes, went for a run, and then extracted codes from that run..
Got error code 34 and 52.
Error code 34:
Diagnosis: The turbocharger pressure is abnormal.
Trouble Area:
Turbocharger
Air flow meter
ECU
Intercooler system
I'm running a completely stock CT26...
Nope that's not it. The wire to the thermo temp sensor broke, but then I made a new connection to it, you can see the red wire going into some tape, and then from there it's the originale wire/plastic sleeve. It's only supposed to go one wire to the thermos temp sensor right?
Thanks for great reply!
I've driven with the turbo being like this for maybe 20-30 minutes, and the engine temperature and oil pressure has been excellent, no problems at all. The whining sound doesn't really affect performance, and I can't notice anything different from when it was fine.
It...
Hey.
Got some bad AFM connections, so got a pigtail connection with my new AFM, now when I've connected it all up, I all of a sudden see a unknown contact/cable?? It's green with red stripes, and has it's own seperate plastic sleeve. Does anyone know where it goes to?
Thanks,
Scott
Hey,
Firstly.. done a GE->GTE swap, just been driving a little, never had it going 100%
AFM was bad.. so changed it. With the old AFM it was drivable, and the last time I took it out for a short run the turbo started to make some noise.. no rattle or anything.. it actually sounds like a...
It's not for performance, durability or trying to gain something. It's just the fact that my goal is a clean, simple, chrome engine bay. So stainless steel braided lines will help somewhat with that, insted of having some bright blue/red etc lines.
A bundle of braided vacuum line isn't...
Hm, I'm still quite curious on how you have made the AN fittings fit onto whatever the lines run into. Do you have any pictures or examples of the AN fitting being threaded on?
Heres a picture showing some vacuum lines I've got now.. http://www.mitoforum.org/priv/supra/worklog/188.jpg How will...
Hey.
I'm not very good with line sizes or it's measuring unit.. Does anyone know what sizes the vacuum lines are? (like 7/32", 5/32" 3/8" 1/4", 5/16" and so on)
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks,
Not to familiar with the 1JZ, does it have the same amount of vacuum lines as 7M? How have you made the fittings fit whatever the vacuum line goes to? (All 100% custom?)
