With the end of regular college football season it means the people of Tuscaloosa can reclaim the town from invading fans. Personally I enjoy the off seasons. No more post game traffic, no more roaming bands of drunken fans on the strip, and the town goes back to normal.
War zone? Depends on which neighborhood you're in and what colors you are wearing at the time. Once I left I never planned to go back. I've gotten used to the slow southern pace of life here.
True. It would be hard to explain how I can read when I went to Chicago public schools and somehow through a twist of fate ended up in Alabama. But I can blame to U of A for having a bad influence on me.
The three "R"'s in my school were Running for Cover, Returning fire, and Reloading quickly.
Over the past few years I started to fear the fourth quarter. It seemed no matter how big the lead Bama would some how choke and lose the game. But like I said Saban has impressed me with what he has done with the Tide this year.
This year Saban has done a lot with a team he did not recruit. The Tide started out a few bad apples that needed to be gotten rid of. But all in all I have to admit this year I was impressed by the Tide's performance.
ah yea, a Winchester 30-30. You may miss the deer but there is still a chance of a kill from the sound of the report scaring the shit out of the deer so bad it has a heart attack.

If you want something to learn how to shoot I would suggest a .22 cal. Ammo and hand gun are really cheap. But for personal and home defense either a .40 cal or .45 cal. I have a friend in Afghanistan and he hates his 9mm with a passion. Because he was fixing a hummer that broke down and the...
I looked at 5 different handguns before getting my Taurus. The deciding factors were the way it felt in my hand, balance, and magazine capacity. Then the owner of the shop cut me a hell of a deal on the price.
To me my 24/7 Pro 40 cal. had less recoil than the 45 compact that I fired that day. And growing up in the Army I've shot full size .45's and they kicked pretty good. So you can't convince me other wise. The 9mm that I fired was some off brand name and felt like it was trying to jump out of my...
I've shot a lot of my friend's compact .45 's and they had more recoil. Could also have something to do with the frame design and the type of rounds you are using. I have the composite plastic frame and use 165 gr rounds.
I was surprised when I took my Taurus 24/7 Pro 40 cal. to the range this weekend. It has less recoil than my friend's 9mm. I put 100 rounds through it and not a single jam. The only problem I had with it was when it ejected the shells I kept hitting the guy two booths down.
I prefer the .40...
