That's odd... If you're using that timing light that works like a strobe light, and jumping it, and tightening down the CPS after adjusting it, maybe your CS pulley is slipping...
You say you adjust it and it lines up with the 10° mark, then it eventually moves off? Or can you not get it to...
Are you making sure you are jumping t1 and e1 on the diagnostic port before attempting to adjust the timing? That will make the difference if you're not.

Just get another Supra and drop in a 1J Doat. I like to have my cake and eat it too, lol.
On a side note, I'm loading another video to YouTube with the new Supra... I'll post the link soon.

This will be #3 lol. This one is an 88, and I also have a 90 & a 91. The new one is an N/A engine, but it's a stick with only 130k original miles. I'm trading my 92 n/a Eagle Talon and $600. Not too bad of a trade if I do say so myself, lol.

Well, I'm waiting in anticipation as my new Supra is being trailered to me. I can't hardly wait until it gets here. It's like effin Christmas lol.

I'm getting my 90 & 91 a new older brother this weekend... An 88 to subdue me until I finish my rebuilds... Lol. Needs a little work, think the timing is off a little bit, and a couple other small things, but runs good! Have to make a 6 hour trip up to Salmon to get her, but the deal is done and...
I found a replacement cap that is pure carbon fiber on Ebay if that interests you. I was thinking about getting one once I get it running and into the cosmetic stage. Think it was $75...

I completely agree. I've seen some similar avatars and some people have no room to talk. It is all about personal taste. I'm planning on repainting my 2nd Supra a nice bright lime green somewhere in the near future, because its my personal preference and I love the color, not because I'm trying...
Purdy... Time for some cookies in the snow! Well, if you have any down there in Texas. We got about 4" today and she's still coming down...

I won't lie, I thought it looked damn cool. Was fun as hell too. And with Gemtech .22 subsonic rounds it really was just a whisper :)

My first handgun I purchased years ago... But just got rid of it recently. It was a Walther P22 with the optional 5" barrel. I know it was a .22, but I was young when I got it. They are actually very reliable guns, and are fun to learn with. Very accurate also. I eventually got an Outback iiD...
I've already got an aftermarket deck in it and she's wired up already for the subs, which I did three years ago... I forgot which brand of door speakers the PO put in, but they sound amazing. Think they are Infinity, but can't swear it. I'm probably going to end up throwing in Bose if they ever...
