You can re-work them. The reason they go down is due to one of two reasons... Either the posts in there get coroded, or little peices of metal begin to flake off and eventually build up so much in the bottom of the battery that they bridge all of the posts, thus shorting out the battery...

you should get you a Diagnostic OBDII reader thing. That way you dont have to take it in everytime the light comes on. Mine comes in handy an awful lot!

You guys are going about this shifter problem all wrong. Paddle shifters... thats where its at. Get a pair of small quick electronic actuators and hook those up to the shift forks. Hook paddle switches up accordingly. WEE rally car!
