I want to fab up a strut tower bar using mild steel, with adjustable rod ends. I want to use mild steel, and will have to use threaded tube ends, that are chrome moly. I want to know if the can be welded together? Can i use a mig welder, or do i need to have them tig welded?

If you cant find one, make your own...Take a schedule 40 steel pipe that is the same size as your charge pipe, cut a small square section out. Then weld it to your pipe, drill it with the approprate size drill bit, and then tap it with a 3/8npt tap.

Does it get hot in stop and go traffic or just on the Hwy? If only on the hwy, check and or replace the lower hose. If the hose is old and weak, it will suck closed, causing a restriction. If it gets hot only while driving around town~ clogged radiator, bad fan clutch, or bad cap, or...
