I still need a good shop around my area. I know of a place in frederick but they havn't done many 7m's, and just told me they could get the surfaces ready for a mhg but didnt say anything about any RA values... anyone know of a good place around my area? Im close to washington DC.

Much different setups, but the spec 3+ in my dads cobra has been great and holds 600+ tq with no problems. With the lightweight flywheel on it it's not too bad once you get used too it, aside from it being somewhat stiff due to it being a cable clutch rather then a hydraulic. Thats why i picked...
Im doing a mild rebuild. Reusing the old pistons and rods. I work at toyota so I can get parts at a discount. Should I just get rings and bearings from toyota or are aftermarket ones a better choice even if im not doing an all out engine buildup?
I read somewhere that from the factory new, the block and head decks are smooth enough to put a MHG on. Now assuming its not warped and this is the first time the motor has been apart, if I were very careful in removing the old gasket material, could I put a MHG on?
tryed looking in the service manual? They may have some step by step guides to diagnosing the alt not charging the battery. Id go and look in my service manual for your but im not at home.
make sure both surfaces are clean and dry and sealent will work just fine. I myself just use fipg on anything that calls for a sealent because i work at toyota and get it pretty cheap. Interested in this 3bond stuff though, is it just easier to work with then other sealents or why do some of you...
Im swapping in a jdm 7m, aside from the oil pres. sender and lack of egr, is anything else different that i should take note of? are any of the vacuum lines different?
So with the motor up on the stand and the accesories off ive notice a few things.
One is that the block has been spray painted black and they missed around the inside edges of the freeze plugs. This isnt oem is it?
