Well I got the motor from a junkyard about a month ago and the car had 140k on it. I check the head bolts and the were already torqued to 72ft-lbs so Im pretty sure it was replaced.
I don't see any of those signs. could the higher compression foul out the spark plugs? They seem to have a...
no its not dirty at all. The bubbles are really tiny it looks more like a foam than bubbles though. Im not losing any coolant either. I'll see if I can get a picture.
My N/a is skipping when I am lightly on the throttle. like when you are just tring to keep a constant speed. Some times the idle fluctuates other times its normal. when it flutuates the valve by the cold start opens and closes. Any ideas?
I have replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor...
nevermind it wasn't my dipstick tube leaking it was my oil filter I was changing it in the dark last night and the gasket from the old filter was stuck to the block and I just put the new one on top of it. Goes to show you how good light is. But my dipstick tube is loose and I would like to know...
How does it stay in place? My dad said that it just drives in place and it worked fine untill last night when I hit it while changing the oil filter now I can't get it in a soild place and it's leaking.
Well I used a oxygen pump as a suction while bleeding the brakes like you normally would. Not as much comes out as you would think it should. I got the back brakes working but they still need to be bled a little more the pedal is still a little soft. I'm just glad to know that there isn't...
Well I bought the car with a blown motor and I assumed they work'd because I knew the guy and he was driving it everyday till the motor blew. My dad has been helping me work on it. He said it acts like it isn't getting the pressure from the master cylinder. I just replaced it though. It is still...
Ok well I have good pressure in my front brakes but not the back. I have replaced the master cyclinder. I blew through the lines with the air and they are clear. Is there any way my proportionate valve could be screwed up? I can lock up my front brakes but not the back. We did have some fluid...
Ok well I checked for power and it has power and banging didn't work. lol. I believe that he is going with a walbro since its cheaper than stock anyways. I'll update this when we get the pump.
Ok well we thought we had fuel pressure but we don't. I don't hear the pump running and when I jump B+ and FP it arcs but I still don't get any fuel. Does that mean its a bad pump? All grounds are now hooked up and the EFI fuse is good. Any ideas?
Yes, it will turn over but will not start. I am also suspecting possibly the CPS is not timed correctly b/c according to the TSRM, incorrect CPS timing could cause it to not start. What other possibilities should we consider? Thanks for your help guys/gals.
I do believe I am missing one ground on the intake side. It broke when we pulled the NA engine out. I will fix the broken wire on the knock sensor and also fix the ground and see if that helps. We are also suspecting that fuel may not be getting to the cylinders. However, there is ample fuel...
Ummm... I don't think it was a very good Idea to drive a car for 2+ hours with the water pump not working. I would fix that first and then I would find out what wires are not hooked up/broken. What about the temp while you were driving?
Ok I'm working on my friends car and we are not 100% sure about the condition of the motor that he bought. The guy said he had a BHG and replaced the HG and before putting it back in the car he found a deal on a 1JZ and decided to go with it. Well we know that the motor had been sittin up for...
