    NA going Turbo by Drew

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Are you Bob's coworker? I really need to get with him so you all can get this damn shell. Sad thing is, I was at the house that entire day and was so into the motor I completely forgot about it. :3d_frown: I may just push it to the curb and let yall come get...

    NA going Turbo by Drew

HAHA. Actually there is. I was debating whether or not to tear the motor completely down or not... keep in mind that I never ran the GTE that I bought. (The fuel pump was shot when I got the car and would only turn over on starter fluid.) I did decide to go ahead and tear it completley down...

Owner of a supra gets caught racing and gets car impounded.

I agree. Obtaining/owning the drivers license in the US is a privilege, but once obtained, the license gives me the right to drive... at least of course until I'm caught racing and its suspended, then that right the license gives me is taken away. ... but I can see where you're coming from...

    Crankshaft pulley

And just to prempt, I'm also assuming that if he took the time out to pull the motor to have the block resurfaced, that he also took the time out to properly check his clearances (which would most likely involve having the block machined) and replace all associated bearings, rings, and seals...

    Crankshaft pulley

Okay, well you show me a block that can be machined with the crank, rods, and bearings still installed, then I'll show you a MHG that can be installed without tearing the engine down. :icon_bigg I did make an assumption, that being the only reason I could think of him having to turn his...

Owner of a supra gets caught racing and gets car impounded.

Wow, I just learned the invaluable lesson of never posting in a thread without reading through it first... LOL. Most of the individuals here are either extremely closed minded or just love to argue. What defines right or wrong? Its definatley not the government, not SM mods, not school...

    engine rod berrings question

Ditto. As have I, but never on the Supra. Wouldn't imagine it be too hard, just somewhat time consuming and tedious. Have fun!! :naughty:

    Crankshaft pulley

When you say "harder", what exactly do you mean? How much experience of "turning" your crankshaft by hand to you have to compare this to? Keep in mind that the pulley is linked directly to the crankshaft, it's not really supposed to be "easy" to turn. To answer your question, relative to...

    Checking for codes question

Was reading the instructions on checking for codes using the diagnostic connector, and have a question. The instructions specify that the car be started after the connectors are connected. What if for whatever reason the car won't start, will the procedure still work or is there another way to...

    Profiling Machiner/Builder

OK, let me ask this. I've done a couple of searches and have not been able to find a complete answer in a thread... furthermore, there is a lot of conflicting information. What are the differences in what a machine shop would do traditionally to a "sports engine" in comparison to what we...

    Profiling Machiner/Builder

For those of you that have dealt extensively with the building/rebuilding of the 7m, I have a question. To my knowledge, there is only 1 builder in the Memphis, TN area that specializes in building Toyota Motors. The name of the company is G-Man Toyota Specialist. I called there a couple of...

gauge cluster...i thought i would have a good day

Yep. As Dan pointed out, all you need to do is swap the driver board from your old cluster, with the driver board in the new cluster if indeed your problem is a circuitry issue. On the other hand, u said that your fuel, tach, and oil pressure guages aren't working now... my next question would...
