if the driveline is not true in its circular circumfrance then it could have a harmonic vibration ither under a load or at speed, regardless if its balanced or not.
if a driveline is made without "d.o.m." or "drawn over mandrel" tubing then the chances for a structual failure and or a...
the one i built in my car is 3x.083 and is 22 pounds. shipped wil cost you 315-320 depending on if you want servicable or non servicable joints from spicer.
i recomend the non servicable spicer snaptights. much stonger than greasable due to the solid u joint body.
you non emission sniffing, non california living people suck with your no smog! :icon_bigg
i feel like ive got a permanate rod stuck up my car's tailpipe and some bloke constantly telling me my car fail's!!!! damn california and its awsome over taxed weather!! :biglaugh:
ya, the aluminum are lighter, but in my profesional opinion, they are more of a bragging right. 3x.065 wall tubing is strong enough for MOST of our applications, but .083 is a little thicker and of course will handle a little more.
aluminum is good for an all out, stripped out race car. i.e...
ok first.. leafspring?!? *scratches head*
and second that sounds like a definate d shaft, VERY easy to diagnose, jack it up and check it, there should be NO play in the joints and VERY MINIMAL in the c bearing. a single piece steel shaft made from .065 or .083 (your choice) wall d.o.m...
i agree, it is n/a cams in a turbo, i was in the process of helping a friend do this, but i do not know the outcome...personally i would NOT do this, but thats not to say it can not be done.
anyone elaborate on this for the OP....
if you unplugged it and it made no change in the behaivor of your engine, this is wrong. i would check if it is functioning......mine stumbles badly and dies. if i try starting it unplugged, it sputters and starts cussing at me. :biglaugh:
yea, mine are a tad snugger than the bosch ones that were on there. but i think the bosch's were kinda a "universial" fitment. idk. but i love the msd's
not that difficult at all. of course the 3000 pipe and coils and such gotta be removed, removed valve covers, and there they are. moving the cams arent a worry at all, put a ratchet on the crank pully and move cams accordingly. :)
jdub, i know you didnt tell me 95 lbs, that was my doing. i...
sorry guys, i forgot to put my update on here, ive been slammed at work and ive had some health issues in my family.
ok, everything is back together, as soon as i can get the camera to load up on here, i will get pics and vid up. SO FAR.... no leaks, no water pushing out of overflow anymore...
gt, cobra, all the same pattern. to answer your question yes they will fit. i have seen the gt rims on one before, looks hideous. the cobra's looks outstanding though.
my gte cold is a little over 40psi. 80mph at 3100 rpm hot its around 38-39psi. idle hot is barely above 0, maybe 2-5ish. my motor is a little tired i know, but not worn out. no smoke ect. plus im working on a stroker for it so its comin out anywho. i might add my car is VERY spoiled, it sleeps...
haha been there done this......
unfortunatly this was my fate as i did the same lame ass thing. saw a mark on pully and cranked several times each cyl to do a comp test... my fingers are crossed.
before you throw anymore money at this, a very easy test on the iscv is when you turn it off, it will make a few clicks, no clicks = junk.
when you got the new iscv did you replace the diaphram and gasket? this is a must and a probable cause to high idle. i got my kit from dealer, less than...
a vac leak will cause small idle fluctuations. and i def agree with jdub, you have a boostleak somewhere. and you stated that 1k was normal idle... this is incorrect. i believe it is 750? anyone clarify this as i am at work, lol. all my notes are at home.
with 3" exhaust off the turbo all the way out the back with no cat, 2.75 hard ic piping and aluminum ic, 60-1 trim ball bearing turbo, 6angle valve job, alum rad with dual fans, and a few other mods that are irrevalent to this thread. flat cruising most ive gotten out of a tank 362miles and i...
