Poll: Public voice needed. Do you think we should start building cages?

That's for IHRA tracks and it's actually a roll bar requirement. A full cage isn't needed until 9.99 or faster (or a set MPH). NHRA tracks require a roll bar at 11.99 or faster and a full cage at 9.99 or faster. The actual enforcement of the rules will vary from track to track. I...

    A Big thanks *CHI2K6*

Sorry. :biglaugh: I'm sure I would enjoy seeing all the cars there. From the pics, there were a number of nice MKIIs, MR2s, and even Scions, all of them left out in my previous post. The tCs would be particularly fun to see since I have one, but mine will probably remain stock for a very...

    Up Coming Movie Thread.

A few that I can think of right now: - Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - Spiderman 3 - Bourne Ultimatum (3rd Jason Bourne movie) - Shrek 3 - Ocean's Thirteen (I find these movies entertaining) - Transformers - Dark Knight (sequel to Batman Begins) Hmm, lots of sequels.

    A Big thanks *CHI2K6*

From the pictures I have seen so far, it looks like quite a turnout and some pretty nice cars there. I think I'd go pretty nuts seeing all those Supras (MKIII and MKIV) in one place. Perhaps I'll attend next year if it doesn't fall on the same weekend as the DSM/EVO Shootout. I've had the...

    if the supra didnt exist...

I would probably look at getting a Nissan 300zx TT or FD RX-7. When I planned on getting the Supra, I wanted a RWD, turbo platform to have some change from the AWD DSM world.

    Time for some Maintenance/Repair Qs

In case you haven't looked at it yet, here is the TSRM info on replacing the water pump: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/co/CO_06.html I haven't changed a water pump on a 7m, so I can't give you any personal helpful hints. It seems easier than doing it on a 4G63 though, since it...

    Time for some Maintenance/Repair Qs

I got the Felpro gaskets at a local auto store (Murray's here in MI). You usually will have to wait a day or two since places like Autozone generally don't keep it in stock. Also grab some RTV while you're there. I believe the TSRM recommends using it near the cam gears. And, although some...

wtf is up w/ 100amp alternator fuse

For things like that, Lowes, Home Depot, or any hardware store is a better bet. Probably cheaper too.

    There went my 'good tune'

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. So I take it that there is no software available to log knock counts with these cars?

wtf is up w/ 100amp alternator fuse

Same here. And it makes sense. Thanks for the info jetjock. While we're on this educational sidebar, what's the reason for the 14mm hex bolt "caps" that hold the "3rd cylinder head cover" on? Why does there need to be an entry to the cylinder head there? Does it gain access to something...

    Cool video

That's one of the main reasons that I shied away from the 300ZX. That and the fact that you have to buy two of everything (obviously I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea). Cool video though.

wtf is up w/ 100amp alternator fuse

Well, I did ask that question jokingly (yes, even with the "but seriously" part in there), but thanks for the clarification. It's not like I doubt Toyota's engineering capabilities. :biglaugh:

    Time for some Maintenance/Repair Qs

If there is oil in the spark plug galley as well, then it might just be the valve cover leaking. I had the exact same looking spark plugs on cylinders #5 and #6, and both spark plug wells were also full of oil. The plugs came out dripping with oil because they were sitting in it. :)...

wtf is up w/ 100amp alternator fuse

Had the same thing happen to me. :icon_bigg Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I really wish I had seen this earlier yesterday when my alternator fuse blew and I proceeded to totally shatter it while trying to take it out. Fortunately I didn't break anything critical and the fuse is...

    motorcycle insurance

Yeah, full coverage on a bike can get quite pricey. Especially since they have to take into consideration that you can have body damage just from dropping the bike in your driveway. Obviously the price also varies greatly depending on where you live and where you are storing the bike. I never...

    You MUST see this

Very cool car. The limit at 112mph is a shame, but still enough to have some fun with. Wow, $40K just for the batteries. :aigo:
