    Please help!!

    It sometimes gets 'jammed' as the caps are loosened, but all thats required, is to press down on the cam evenly to get the the tension off of it.

    Car jerks when accelerating quickly?

    If you're hitting fuel cut, it'll feel like the engine shut off for microsecond, and you'll get a check engine light on for about 1 to 2 seconds. It usually indicates a boost leak as mentioned above. If that boost gauge tubing has any leaks, it could be the case as well, but check all of the...

    Help with Maintenance

    No- That was a misunderstanding. You stay 2.25- 2.5" on the exhaust for the na. The BIC downpipe is indeed for turbo engines. Just get a standard exhaust. I didn't necessarily mean you should go to the dealer for the exhaust replacement. The are aftermarket companies that make the oem-like...

    Gotta ask this once more (white smoke)

    PS- MFR looks like a pretty good-sized Class D airport, but being as I'm usually in a BE40, I rarely get out to the northwest areas, and when I do, its usually SEA,CYVR, etc.

    Gotta ask this once more (white smoke)

    LOL. It's normal(depending on environmental conditions) to have a little white smoke(that evaporates) on startup when cold. If you're not losing ANY coolant, you're probably fine. If you ARE losing coolant, do a block test and find out for SURE.

    New 7M Install

    Thanks for reading my thread. You do realize, or course, that your thread title will no longer make sense, right? You need to change it to "7M install just went 2J" - or something.

    1986.5 7mge -> 2jzge my very first build.

    AEM is as capable a system as you can get without going to the pro efi or a haltech system, so yes- you can tune to exactly what you want with it. I'm hoping your new ignition system will cure all your troubles. Did you get the new speedo cable in it yet?

    New 7M Install

    You're giving up the 7MGTE that you had just rebuilt, and are selling out to the JZ clan??

    Exhaust sputtering and engine shaking

    Does it stutter on acceleration? If so, I would check the spark plug valley for contamination- especially water. ANY water in the spark valley will cause a misfire, and it will also cause the "put-put-put" and shaking you mention.

    fuel pulse damper solution

    Cool find. How much do they run? I just did this for mine: It allows direct hookup to AN6, and came with the proper sized upper and lower crush washers. $13. Also, I like that you took the time to sleeve your fuel line there. I found that the 90's Toyota trucks utilize a rubber...

    Exhaust sputtering and engine shaking

    PS- I have a brand new direct fit Denso O2 sensor in the box. Lemme know if you want it.

    Help with Maintenance

    Change the exhaust for new oem exhaust. Yes, replace the valve cover gaskets. I don't think you should replace the head gasket unless it fails a block test. Have the bolts properly retorqued, and you'll be fine for a LONG time. If you mod this car or put a single aftermarket, "JDM-tyte"...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3,...NOW FOUR!

    Well yeah, but I "pulled the plug" on it again. I have no reason to finalize the battery mounting until I reinstall the headlights.

    1986.5 7mge -> 2jzge my very first build.

    I really haven't heard of any cons, just the time and $$ to install it, which is reasonable. And Adam- How much have you spent on tuning? You've been down there twice for a couple of hours each time, right? You shouldn't be charged more than $100 per hour, I'd hope.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3,...NOW FOUR!

    No pics today. I received my 4 gauge battery cables today, so I mounted them up. I'm waiting on some 10mm i.d. silicone hose, so that I can 'sleeve' the positive cable, for added abrasion insurance. I will say that it was nice to hear the 'key-in' warning chime when I tested the connections to...
