Funny that you mention the notecard thing, that's exactly what my friend did when he painted his two sets of rims. It worked fine for him as well.

my friend painted his track rims striaght up with no prep. It looks fine from far away but you can tell that he did not prep it if you get closer. if you don't care, just paint them. If you want it to look good, do all the sanding.

Not really an answer to your question but I heard that the stock wires will work if you mount your coil pack on the back of the engine. You just reverse the order of the wires, so, place the wire for 1 in sparkplug 6. This works because they both fire at the same time.

looks cool. I was looking at the super shallow 8" to save space but now I think I might go for the Bazooka bass tube because I want bass but my speakers aren't that great and I don't need quality sounding equipment. I think it would fit well behind the rear seats.
