My turbo has a .68 hotside and a .70 compressor housing, turbo is a T66 and the guy I talked to said the same thing, it would have lots of back pressure, but wouldn't the wastegate help here? I was thinking looking into a .82 but i figured I build the motor and see how it runs first.
I say just get a new one and if you get a good deal on the blue hey go for it, if not the run you run is fine. Good idea to replace on a new rebuild ;)
Anybody want to meet up between Mon & Weds? I'll be up that way doing some partial moving and wouldn't mind chilling and learning the area. PM me and I can get ya my cell number
Sounds like my car and I can tell you this I'm not certain it's a bhg but more like a ticking bomb that I want to change ASAP ;) maybe we are wrong it could be something else but I'm pretty sure its a HG
fel-pro or OEM tend to be your best(for a GE application unless you plan on turbo'n later on). Make sure when you put it on it's a clean surface both on the head and block and your re-torque them to 75-80 ft/lbs
all depends on your tune... Honestly with that many miles your best bet is to at least go over the HG and switch to arp head studs. I presume you currently have a gte?
JDM motors are Japanese imported motors that you have to contend with usually not having EGR also the motors are ticking time...
I beg to differ if these flanges are for a 40-50mm Hks wastegates because I have a hks 50mm and it does not fit my hearder which is an ebay special.
Mainly your best bet is to have one made and welded to the flange or cut the old one off and weld the new one on.
I read that there is a plug that is screwed into the GE block and can be taken out. Also the gte has a stud on the block to hold the relocator in place. I'm building my turbo motor using a GE block so can I just take out that screw and drill and tap a stud to bolt it on to the block?
Well I do know it's a turbo built by Mike's Turbo so I feel pretty confident on it. I got a shop here to look at it tomorrow for me if not I'll just call Mike's turbo I guess. Might have to get a 90 degree bend to clear the manifold looks like
But I have mostly all I need for my turbo motor build already. The turbo I have is a great turbo, no shaft play and really strong. I just need a couple clamp/brackts to hold down the exhaust & front housing to the turbine haha I'm not going to spend another 2000 just for a turbo kit.
Thanks for the insight guys but there is no "lack of brain power" here haha I am very car knowledgeable and not a typical "bench racer". I do work on my cars all the time & nobody touches them.
I still yes need to do research on the MAF comp. stuff but that'll be later on down the road. Main...
Hey guys, so yeah I just scored a t4 turbo and the guy was unable to "find" the brackets and bolts for the compressor housing and exhaust, where can I get some at?
Also, I've seen people run a .70 a/r turbo (like mine) with just a filter on it and no maf? I don't see the hose and such, just a...
Would something like this work for my problem with the turbo hitting the manifold when I angle it down low?

I don't want to weld to...
yeah it's a tad boring but it's still COD4 haha
They are supposed to have an actual full blown commercial May 24th on TNT during the eastern conference finals.. I'll just wait for Youtube
The time has come for me to start the boost process :evil2: I scored a good NA motor from a buddy so I decided that would be my core. The only thing on this powerplant that will remain NA is the block and maybe single knock sensor. I planned on rewiring it or I might just drill and tap for a...
