I think I will go with what IJ is talking about and leave the bore and maybe just go 20 or 40 at the most. Original post change to .40 over. Now that this issue is out of the way, back to the original thread topic please. What type of Boost should I be able to pull from it? Also depending on the...
Well if overboring it only makes a minor difference, how come all of the big block racers do it? Not trying to be an ass on this but I seriously want to know if boring it out would help with the power gains.
I'm doing it 60 over to increase the bore. That has nothing to do with how many times the engine has been rebuilt. I'm just increasing the bore to 84mm instead of the stock 83. That way the motor is just a bit larger then the stock 3.0
Well funny thing is, I had it set perfect and it was holding .85 and now it is back down to the usual .5. And yes sorry it is not bar, I was just converting it. It is that weird crap. I still have no clue on how to self learn the ecu in that thing. Someone come over here and do it for me...
Sorry I forgot to put that in there. Yes it is a 7M block. The block is a December 1988. As far as I know. If it has been changed....no clue before me.
Ok so, here is a question for the masses. With my next setup, I am trying to find out how much boost I could run and what power I should expect from it. Here is what I will have done. I just want to know if it will even be worth it for us.
from top to bottom
BC valves
Ferra springs and...
Nope this one is RHD. I have to wait until December 1st 2013 to put it on the boat. or a few days before. I have to wait until it hits it 25th bday. Then I can ship it. Anytime before that and it will cost us a good arm and a leg. and that would just cover importing costs.....then comes the...
Beat me to it. I was about to start searching for this thread and then BAM!! you show up and ruin my day. lol. Well now that this is done. Time to go and paint my custom enclosure clear so noone can see it to steal it.
You do have to use primer with that stuff. Rattle canning it needs to have a good coat of primer. I would use the rust stopper primer. I have 2 cans of the stuff here and it is GREAT! I do agree on the grey color for the DIY rattle can job.
I personally vote for clear. Haven't seen that one done yet. I have seen the Chrome look and the Gold look but not clear....lmao try painting that one fucking Maaco
Everything is fixed now. I had to put the duty % up to 66% and now it is holding steady at .85 bar. Now if I could figure out how to change the bar to psi on this thing. Time to call ApexI on monday.
Well, if you are referring to the duty cycle, I have messed with that for about 6 runs on our test area here and nothing gets me over .55 bar right now. Which is why I was wanting to find someone that is running an AVC-R and then possibly get their setting from them if they are hitting .9 bar.
Is anyone running one of these on their 7MGTE? I have just finished my install but as usual, I suck at programming. I want to run 12 PSI. The previous owner of the turbo that is in the car now said that it ( ct26 ) boosted to .9bar with no problems at all. So I figure if I can get 12 out of it...
Welcome to your first of MANY time consuming and wallet draining problems with owning an MK3 Supra. I see that you got it straightened out. Congrats. I hope any future issues ( if any ) work out as easy. I know most of ours on here haven't.
What are your clearances on the front and back of the hood? If they match across both ends, then chances are, it is warped. Then you would want to call them back and let them know that you have a pic of it after installation, and everything is lined up properly, but that it still has issues...
